Earlier this year, the Howell Carnegie Library received a $10,000 gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York as part of the “Carnegie Libraries 250” initiative. These funds mark the 250th anniversary of the United States and libraries’ role as “cradles of democracy.” What does that mean for you? During the week of June 15-20, we have free special events for all ages to celebrate America, engage with your community, and let freedom ring! Be sure to gather your family and friends for our All-American Block Party on Saturday, June 20, from 2:30-7:00 pm on the library grounds, featuring a petting zoo, live music, free hot dogs and ice cream, and much more!
